FINDING THE STORIES IN YOUR WORLD

As I mentioned last week, I want to share with you today how to
find stories in your world that you can use to teach safety. The
key to this is similar to other techniques. It begins with the
questions you ask yourself. Start your day off with a question
and it will effect what you see during the day. Ask yourself in
the morning, "What will I notice today that I could tell people
about in order to illustrate a safety principle or
concept?" When you ask a question such as this your unconscious
mind will focus on the answer all day long. It is important to
write down any ideas that you generate as the day goes by. What
do you see during the day that either reinforces a safe approach
to work or leisure? What do you see during the day that serves
as a warning of what to avoid in life if you want to live and
work safely. You will discover very quickly when you begin
this process that quite a few things come to mind. Just on the
drive to work, you will see several unsafe behaviors that can be
used to illustrate many lessons. Try finding safety
illustrations away from work where you don't have any
preconcieved notions and you will be surprised how many you see.
Then, take the same skill and apply it to your workplace. Have
fun discovering the stories that will save lives.

Along the lines of helping you with your stories, I have
discovered that some of you have been looking for someone who can
come to your location to work with your team and their
presentation skills. I am available for this type of coaching
for the same fees I charge for presentations.
Call my office at 1-800-588-9419 today to schedule one or more
days to improve your presentation skills. Your corporate leaders
and you will be pleased with the results.

Yours in Service,
John Drebinger

P.S.
HEY VETERAN BUMPER STICKER UPDATE!
MAGNETIC BUMPER STICKERS NOW AVAILABLE ($5.99each)

If you missed one of my last few issues please read the
following.

Some of my long-time readers remember that I
have for years had a personal project where I call three
veterans I know each and every Veteran's Day and thank them for
their service to our country and for providing my freedom.

Afterall, if it weren't for them we would certainly be living
under the tyranny of some other country less committed to
freedom than we are as a people.

As a result of this project, I came up with an idea. I wondered
how we could continue to thank veterans and support our troops
long after they returned home. The solution is a bumper sticker
that reads,

"Hey Veteran, Thanks For My Freedom".

I think when the idea catches on, veterans of years past and
today's brave soldiers will realize how much we appreciate them
every time they see a car drive by with one in place. If you
would like to join me in thanking our veterans for their service
and, quite frankly, our freedom, please order one and put it on
each of your vehicles. You may even want to buy a few to give
to the veterans you know at work.

They are red, white, and blue and are 11.5" x 3" in size,
printed on vinyl. The cost is only $2.99 each and we pay the
shipping. The magnetic version is $5.99 each and free shipping.
Go to http://www.thanksvet.com and get yours now.

Twenty-five percent of the
profits from this project will be donated to veterans' service
organizations. For an update of how much has been donated,
a special page on our website will be updated with our results .

Join us in thanking every veteran in this country!
Go to http://www.thanksvet.com and order several bumper
stickers for your cars, your friends, and as a gift to any
veterans you know.

We would appreciate it if you cut and pasted this notice into an
email you could send to your personal mailing list. If you need
any information you can contact us at office@thanksvet.com We
are however only set up to take online orders unless you need
quantities over 100.
Thanks for your help spreading the thanks across this wonderful
country of ours to the men and women who make it possible.

When you forward this to your friends would you please cc me so
I can track how far the idea is spreading and what level of
response we are getting.
